Your data, your choice

Delete your account

You can delete your Intimacy account and its data at any time, in the app or by email. Here is how, and exactly what happens.

Delete your account in the app

  1. Open Intimacy and sign in.
  2. Go to More → Settings.
  3. Tap Delete my account, type DELETE to confirm, and tap Delete account.

This deletes your account. If you are paired, it also unpairs you and permanently erases all shared content for both partners. This can't be undone.

Request deletion by email

If you can't access the app (for example, you no longer have your phone), you can ask us to delete your account:

  1. Email hello@ourintimacy.app from the email address on your account.
  2. Use the subject “Delete my account”.
  3. We'll verify the request and complete the deletion within 30 days, and let you know when it's done.

We may ask a follow-up question to confirm the request really comes from you. We will never ask for your password or recovery phrase.

What is deleted

  • Your account, including your email address and sign-in credentials.
  • All encrypted content in your shared space: photos, videos and thumbnails, photo details, moments, ideas, wishes and display names. The encrypted files are deleted from storage.
  • Your answers to questions in Ask.
  • The encrypted backup of your keys used for recovery.
  • The pairing between you and your partner.

What may remain

  • Nothing content-related. None of your photos, videos, moments, ideas, wishes or answers remain with us.
  • Minimal server logs (such as IP addresses and request times) kept by our hosting provider may remain for up to 90 days for security, then expire.
  • Provider backups may take up to 30 days to roll off.
  • If the law requires us to keep specific records, for example in connection with a child safety report, we keep only what is required.
  • Anything saved on your own phone, such as photos you chose to keep in your camera roll, stays on your phone until you remove it.

What it means for your partner

Your shared space belongs to both of you, so deleting your account while paired unpairs you and permanently erases all shared content for both partners, from both phones. Your partner keeps their own account and can pair again with a new invitation. If there is something either of you wants to keep, save it before you delete.

Just want to unpair?

If you want to end the shared space but keep your account, go to More → Settings and tap Unpair and delete everything. That permanently erases all shared content for both partners, but keeps your account so you can pair again later.
